How To Replace Interior Doors Frequently Asked Questions

Non-Standard Door Sizes:   I have an older home with non-standard door sizes, can I still install new doors in my existing jambs without having to install new jambs, casing & stop?(Marge in Minneapolis)

Yes you can Marge, the doors are manufactured and machined to fit your opening, so the size does not matter.

Door Removal:   Will I be without doors while the new replacement doors are being made? (Valerie in Anoka)

No Valerie you won't, your existing doors will not be removed until they take them out to install the new doors.

Use Existing Hardware:   We would like to install new doors in our home, but we really like the hardware that we have on our current doors, can we use our existing hardware on the new doors?(Shelly in Chaska)

You can use your existing hardware. When we machine the new replacement doors, we will measure the existing hardware locations and sizes and machine the doors accordingly.

Replace Bifold with Door:   I have an opening that currently has bifold doors that I would like to replace with a pair of swinging doors instead, is that possible?(Jim in Apple Valley)

Yes that is possible Jim, we would have to manually machine the side jambs for the hinges and add door stop to the opening.

Match Stain Color:   If we install new doors in our existing door jambs, will the color of the new doors match our trim & cabinets?(Tom in St. Cloud)

After machining the new doors we prefinish them to match your current trim, to do this we usually take a cabinet door or pieces of trim with to match the color to, we return the color sample to you after finishing the doors.

Glass Options:   I have a den with a pair of wood doors. Do you have doors with both wood panels and glass, I do not want an all glass door? (Jean in Monticello)

We can do that Jean, and we have, (see photos below). In fact, you can replace any wood panel with glass in our door designs so feel free to be creative to get the look you want.
